Depending on your preferences, variations in your scope and budget may exist, such as hiring a headliner band vs. a DJ, each of which require very different planning efforts and budget allocation. A unique floral entrance is more design work and material cost than a minimal display of bud vases on cocktail tables. Michelin style dining with multiple courses and paired international wines vs. a simple family style dinner creates completely different execution plans and supply lists.
